This is a great deep dish pizza to do in a 10″ cast iron skillet. It will also work in a 12″ skillet, but the crust will be a bit thinner. I like this because I control the toppings. The following recipe is when I’m not even trying to be healthy.

The beauty of this pizza is that you control the toppings. Instead of pepperoni, use sliced tomatoes & onions. Or just top it the way you order your favorite takeout. As a plus, since you are making it at home, the toppings will be spread evenly and not pushed to one side because the delivery guy tilted the box ☺

Instructions
  1. Pour oil in 10" cast iron skillet. Put pizza dough in pan, flipping it to coat with oil. Cover pan with plastic wrap and let sit a minimum of ½ hour, but I usually go 2 hours or more.
  2. Preheat oven to 450°.
  3. While oven is preheating, oil hands and push the dough out to the edge of the skillet. If the dough isn't pliable, let rest awhile longer.
  4. Top with pizza sauce, cheese, and any toppings that you desire.
  5. Cook for 12-15 minutes, until cheese is melted and the pizza edges are browned and crispy.
  6. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
